With the changing seasons come new beginnings.

There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter. -Rachel Carson

About

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

Seeking care for mental health is as wise as caring for physical health. Whether there are symptoms, or you simply want a "check-up," mental healthcare is an important part of overall well-being. I'm not here to tell you what's "wrong" with you but instead, to explore what what you've experienced, how you've survived, and your hopes for the future. I'll hold space when you need a safe, quiet container to process and heal, and I'll be compassionate and honest when you want a reflection. You are the expert when it comes to you, and I'll offer my help to co-create a path to your goals. Along with foundational, evidence-based treatment modalities, sessions can include outdoor experiences such as Eco-therapy and Adventure Therapy. Positive psychology is embedded in my approach, shifting focus from problem to solution when you feel ready. I'm a Licensed Independent Social Worker Supervisor (LISW-S) with Bachelor of Science degree from Bethany College and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of New England. My certificates in trauma resilience and trauma responsive care have helped me gain a deep knowledge of how trauma impacts the physical body and brain. I've also completed a certificate in Eco-psychology and believe in the profound healing benefits nature offers. My background includes many years in direct care and case management, intensive family counseling, medical social work, hospice/community bereavement counseling, and private practice counseling serving individuals, couples, families, and groups We are all individuals and products of our environment, each with unique strengths and survival behaviors that have helped during difficult times. The survival behaviors that have kept us safe in the past often end up becoming the source of frustration. My goal is to help you identify strengths and create new behavior patterns which, when used with intention, can help you reach your desired potential and live a whole-hearted life. I look forward to meeting you and honoring the stories you share.
